OK, I made a paper model here at work, looks like all you have to do is roll in the corners like the illustration at diy gear supply, and I would run a stitch down them to keep em rolled. You're prolly gonna have to make a pretty deep and wide corner roll, like 2" over and 2" down. Then just do your flat felled seam and the now the seam should come up and look like a Y. Now just fold the top down to make the channel and it should resemble an M , where the bottom of the vertical parts of the M is the edge of the draw string channel and the point of the center of the M is the flat felled seam, heading towards the bottom of the sack.
Good luck,

That sounds like it could work! I cut a slit, maybe 1 1/2" in length and folded the corners, on the side of the sack opposite of the FF seam, then rolled the hem, but I rolled the hem to large and the entire "v" shape was rolled into the hem. I like your idea, I will have to try that later this evening and see how it works.
I just made a paper model as you suggested, that works awesome! That will make a very nice looking stuff sack. Thanks!

Redoleary that is a fancy looking stuff sack. Really great work.
I always sew my channel in last. I fold to get the placement of my button hole then put in the button hole ( I am liking the grommet idea a lot) then re-roll my channel and sew it up. It helps that the platform in front of my machine is removable and I can do a circle starting at about 6'' round.

Bugs: You don't need me to make you look like a fool.
Yosemite Sam: Yer deerrrnnn right I don't!
Thank you Jazilla.
When I sew the drawstring channel, I leave the platform on b/c I sew the inside of the channel with the bag pointing up, rather than down over the edge of the machine. I've made them about 2" in diameter (sans flat felled seam) and it was a real PITA cuz the presser foot mechanism and the thumb screw that hold then needle kept gett'n caught up in the bag. Wasn't pretty.
Good luck,
