I ran across this product the other day, and it looks like it would have some sort of hammocky application, but I just can't come up with anything great. Do any of the hammock geniuses here have any bright ideas?

I don't know what it's official use it (where did you find it?) but you could use it to extend anything that needed length.

Pack leash, attach to pack carry handle then to belt, tree etc. To keep from rolling down hill. ( if on hill )
I love it when you look at something and say,"Now how could I use that with a hammock?" Awesome. I think I would use that as a safety harness if i were hanging on a very steep incline.
with two m's, like "hammock."
Whaddizzit?
It's a hobble. For restraining handcuffed prisoners. As in this link.
As to possible uses - how about holding a pack off the ground? By clipping to suspension or tree or whatever?

It is indeed, a police hobble. Good luck with those bears. My issue is that for $40, I think I can find a more economical way to hang a pack. I would imagine that rope is pretty strong, so I was thinking something along more weighty lines...
