Hey all, I'm a noob to hammock camping. I just ordered the DD Frontline and I've heard the suspension needs some work.
I'll get into modding and DIY later...after I have a hammock and know what I'm doing. For now, I have a 4 day kayaking trip coming up and I need an entire suspension system that has:
1) No stretch
2) Adjustable
3) No knots (okay, maybe one.)
4) Under $30 Shipped
5) Must be able to hold 300lbs (I'm 230, but let's not cut things close.)
6) Must not require DIY skills.
Also, note that:
This system has
no weight restriction (I'm kayaking, not backpacking). I figure that'll shave off a few $$.
I know there's an entire world out there of suspension systems, but the more I read, the less sure I am of any purchase. If someone could just make this easy and say, "Go to your local hardware store and buy X, Y, and Z", that'd really help. I'm also looking at Arrowhead Equipment, but I'm not sure what pieces I need to buy at what length (6' tree straps? 3'? What length whoopie slings? Carabiners?)
Anyways, I've seen how helpful you all can be, so I thought I'd just ask.
