I've got a tube of the silnet silicon sealant to seal up my new DIY tarp.
Any tips for making this nice and easy?

Do the inside....go slow....use a brush, Q-Tip or digit. Don't glob it on. Thin line. No drinking whilst seaming. Focus. Play calming music. Clear the room. Let it dry good.

you can tape off what you don't want to get silnet on to make a nice clean look, one tip is too put a bit of baby powder or something similar on the silnet after is has dried so that it doesn't stick to itself when you store it back up for the first time

I hang a tarp upside down to seam seal. I would not want to try to seal one that is just laid on the floor or a table and not under tension.
Although "baby powder" is frequently recommended, it is made out of cornstarch and is not the preferred product. Talcum powder (sold to use on tire inner tubes) is what you want and to repeat...it is used after the silnet has set overnight or longer.
Cut the silicone 'til it's thin and runny. Brush on with a thin brush and let dry.
That'll little tube will go a long ways.
I cut mine 2-1. 2 parts Paint thinner to 1 part sil.
Hope this helps!
