Gresh, Thats a great offer. I'm seriously eyeing a gear hammock* and if my crappy DIY version doesn't work this weekend and your good lady does come over I might ask a favour.

If you can get some amsteel at the price I've seen on the web in US ($0.25) per foot 7/64
Any colour
50 - 100ft
That would be great , if not no problem thanks for offering anyhow.
She's agreed to take some stuff over (if she does indeed go).
The way I figure it, you can order the goods and pay (via paypal, I think) and have them sent to my house or you can transfer (via PayPal) enough money for me to cover the item plus domestic shipping (cheaper than international). She'll bring the stuff over, and you can either pick it up from her in Hutton-Cranswick (near Driffield), or she can post it to you if you include enough for it to be posted to you.
Of course, this is all speculative, pending her actually going and getting a date.
Also, Trav - she usually flies into Manchester, so you could probably get yours at the airport. I can get Amsteel locally, so that'll save you shipping.
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.
Now that's tempting... :-D looking for amsteel (black) what lengths can you get / are you/your wife willing to send?
There are no wrong ways to do things... Only alternative methods that don't work!!
Whatever lengths she can get in her pack, SurvivalStudent.

Line arrived today and my tarp ridge line will be tested this weekend. Many thanks.

Many thanks, All the best and Happy Easter!
Gresh. Very kind offer. There are a few things on the wishlist but if at all possible I would really like a stickpic. Hope your lady has a pleasant trip here and is not too weighted down by extra things.
I'll post here when we have confirmed dates for her trip.

A little more expensive than in the US but you can get a stickpic in the UK. http://www.backpackinglight.co.uk/pr...l/YA105-8.html
Hi Craige! Thanks for the link. That sorts me out with a stickpic - and afew other things. I keep spending money
Must work out the correct size as my walking poles aren't listed..
Not long got in from a walk in the local Woodland Trust woods. Still remarkably muddy where snow had locked-in much of the soggyness from last years heavy rains. Not able to camp there anyway. Just finished cleaning off mud.
