Hello,

I am experimenting with rigging a tarp. To connect the tarp to the tree, I have one long length of 1.75mm lash-it with a soft shackle end on it. On the other end, I have a short piece of lash-it configured as a single-line friction knot (much better than the Prusik it seems) with a stopper knot on the end. I slide the stopper up and down the tail of the soft shackle, allowing me to adjust how large of a loop I make to connect the tarp to the tree.

I am not excited about the prospects of trying to open the soft shackle loop if it's cold or dark out. There isn't much to grab onto. I've seen some pictures of soft shackles made from larger rope that have smaller lines spliced into the loops, presumably for grabbing more easily to open the loop. Is there something like this that people do with 1.75mm lash-it soft shackle loops? I have some ideas but I want to see if this is a solved problem.

Thanks!
