Im looking for options when trees are not readily available, I was curious if anyone had ever made a double hammock stand for a truck bed?
I am in the build mode right now. I am working out the joint placement for the pins on the uprights.
I will do a video when I get it completed. It will be made to use in a standard reciver hitch of a truck, should hold a out 1200lbs load.
Since a lot of your load would be horizontal, why not simply design the post coming up from your receiver to take the vertical weight, and then just use a tension line toward the front of the bed to take the horizontal pull of the hammock ... ? KISS, ya know I've seen some grossly under-designed or poorly mounted hitches, and I hate the thought of all that leverage on the hardware.
