Has anyone bought down from these sellers?

Has anyone either bought these down pillows or have bought from the sellers (ebay)? I am considering buying some from them. I know some pillows have feathers in the center of the pillows and wouldn't want to be stuck with that purchase. So many of you have good experience with buying down from ebay.

Or maybe you folks have better sellers in mind and would share the'yr finds. THANKS

I looked into this before and some of the manufacturers use 300 fp down so not good i found a supplier that makes the down pillows for harrods that would sell 85pc down 1kg for £80 but no way to tell fp unless i buy some and test it. In the end i bought my down from Germany 700fp EU so 800fp US for about £14 for 100g which is ok for me.

I have used these in almost all of my quilts. Very fluffy down with almost no feathers. If you sign up for the emails, you will get 20% off one item coupons periodically.

Thanks, I've checked it out and i'm interested. I wonder what the down FP is on these pillows. How much down did you get for each pillow? I'm not interested in premium down or high FP down. I can accept from 650 to 750 FP down, nothing lower. I don't want to guess the FP. Thanks.

I've had mixed experiences reclaiming down from eBay. Even vendors that I had good experiences with in one instance had a crappy product later.. Its not just the seller, but their source as well.

Check out Ripstopbytheroll.. You won't get the 2lbs of down for $100.. But you will get high quality treated down without a single feather.

I had so many bad experiences with eBay down, that I now leave my gambling to casinos

Bloomingdale My Luxe 800fp pillows have been a reliable source of good down in the past. I was paying about $3 an ounce shipped last year from ebay sources. Here's an old post with weights...https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...960#post465960

With that said, there is a lot of merit for paying a little more to have it packaged in smaller pre-weighed and easily handled packages from the cottage vendors.

+1 on the My Luxe pillows. marceoutlet appears to be the best source on ebay for them. I also paid ~$3/oz. The only downside is having to buy in bulk, but if you have winter quilts to make you soon come out ahead.

May sound strange, but can anyone point me to some good large ziplock bags that would make opening these pillows easier and to keep the down in afterwards?

Cedar - my wife has bought some large zip lock type bags for storing clothes and blankets and such. Not sure where she got them, but knowing her, I would guess they came from Target. Probably in the housewares area.

I believe the down is 600 or 650. It's very fluffy and lofts well. The standard is 16oz of down, the king is 19oz of down. I used to use a shop vac to harvest the down, but it is very time consuming. Now, I use the -go outside, slit open the pillow, grab a hand full and shove into each baffle until the down is gone-method. I really don't lose much down that way and it's much faster.
