Just received my military magnesium snowshoes from Sportsmans Guide. Relatively the same floatation and weight as my Yukon Charlies, but have longer tails. I also purchased two pair of military xc skis w/skins to replace my touring skiis. Needed more width for floatation. Switching bindings on one set and purchased another set of Karhu Sweeper Bindings for the other. Bindings were $109.00, on sale for $89.00, and rang up at $29.00. Whoooooo Hoooooooooooo!!!!!!!! Needless to say I'll have an extra pair of skiis and poles for peeps if someone wants to carry or ride them in. Looking forward to this trip. Is it just me or are there others who are so looking forward to this hang, they are dissapointed when there are no new posts on this thread.

i just ordered a pair of these military surplus mukluks.
    http://bandmmilitarysurplus.com/cart...sm-p-1116.html
can not wait to try them out.i usually were sorel type boots all winter and found out last winter camping that all that sweat that accumulates and is trapped in the boots made it allmost impossible to put them on in the morning.froze solid. the mukluk aproach sounds like the ticket.
i would like to try out some of the newer type snowshoes includeing those military ones.i have only ever used traditional ones.
    thanks

I believe This trip will be a most educational trip to all attending and all watching. A wide array of insulation methods seem to be expected. Hangers will have acsess to new methods of winter travel ( snowshoe both trad. and modern. + xc ski). Snow levels seem to be increasing which I believe will leave this hang to be a great test case. Any other takers????

Fourdog, even though I will have a brand new pair of magnesium snow shoes, I still want you to show me how to use the trads! Thanks again!

    Frozen butt hang

Canoeski and I are thinking about attend this as we both live in Madison, WI.
I will have my Dodge Ram 4x4 with a lifted suspension,
so I can help with the shuttle. Looking forward to this and some fun
    in the snow.

Beep. Add in three more people here. My brother in law Tom and Canoeski are looking like they will drive with me from Madison, WI. We have another 4 x4 with raised suspension to help with the shuttle as well. I am a long time winter camper, so looking forward to being in the cold with other's who enjoy the best season for camping.
