Pre-Halloween Midweek Linville Hang Oct 26-30

Lets see if we can pull off a mid-week trip to Linville Gorge, NC!!!
How many think they can make it?

If nothing major happens, I should be able to drive out to the gorge after work Tue, Oct. 27 & hike in, & hike out Thurs, Oct 29.
Some may want to go earlier & leave later in the week.

Hopefully Shug will be joining us. All are welcome.

Well I definitely want to be in on this ... unless I have to go out of country during those dates ... but looks good right now.

Wish I could make it, but I'll be at Disney in Orlando. Mickey and Minnie will be happy to see me that week. Hate it that I'll most likely miss meeting Shug (and the rest of y'all that I haven't met yet).

On a related note, I wonder which Disney character Shug would be, if he were a Disney character?

I'm not sure if the campsite has been selected yet. But, in the spring we went down Conley Cove which is about 1.3 miles each way. Then we went something like 1000 feet south of there on the Linville Gorge trail to a campsite that was nice for hammocks.

It's really more like the hike down and the hike up... and it's about 1500 feet each way!

    I'll be there!

Yer right Mac. In Linville, it's not the miles, it's the terrain. Steep and rough, but Conley is probably the tamest trail on the west side. Most don't have all those switchbacks.
