I know from experience that few people ever get cell phone reception in GHSP w/o going up onto one of the higher peaks. I've never got coverage from were they parked, but since Doctari called 2Q to let him know they were there, maybe he has had better luck w/ the cell phone.
Still, just because it worked one day, doesn't mean it will the next.
Also, when leaving GHSP, they are going down into lower areas. I've never got coverage from the lower elevations for sure. That includes the restaurant were the group usually goes for a late lunch on Sun.
And I'm sure it has taken longer to hike out than normal, & they may have to shovel snow from in front of the cars if the road was plowed.
I'm sure one of them will find a way to call home before long, even if they have to use a local phone.

We must and do all look after our own. Which is why I love this community.
In my mind they're just going to spend another night waiting for the plows to get to the tertiary roads. If they are at their vehicles they even have heat now!

The roads weren't that bad at all if they went toward Damascus. I'd say more, but I REALLY need to get some gear drying.
