The overcover is just a thin layer of fabric that sits on top the hammocks bugnetting or ridgeline. You'll still need a sleeping bag or top quilt for insulation/warmth.

I currently have a REI Zephyr +20° F, a mid-range synthetic filled bag, but it works well so I plan to use it unzipped as my OQ.
Guess I have to decide if the SS will get the job done or if I should just wait and get a JRB Nest, basically twice the cost though. (139 vs 279) I will be using the hammock at low temps in the teens F.
