All the pictures I see show the attachment between the forestay and the mast. I am assuming this is a sloop rig. I don't know how well this would work when tacking. I can see you coming about and all of a sudden going swimming!!!

I'd assume you wouldn't try to hang your hammock on deck while under way unless your boat could safely accomodate it.

I'll have to experiment. I can probably attach a biner to the mainsail and either figure a way to hook to the Genoa or use a pole and support it three or four ways. I'll experiment and let everyone know what the solution is.
And, yes, I do like trees. Sailing with my girlfriend is what allows me into the woods from time to time :^ )
