    Hammock Test Drive

I'm interested in hammocks BUT would love to test drive one before purchase. Any suggestions how that might happen?
My experience is many years as a sectional hiker on the AT under a tarp or in a tent.

one possibility would be to make one for about $10.00 bucks. http://www.imrisk.com/testhammock/testhammock.htm
but someone close to you would probably be glad to let you try one of the name brand hammocks.

You can go to REI and get one. If you don't like it return it.

There are a lot of hammockers in the NC area. I'm sure you could get up with somebody and take a hammock for a test drive.

Depends on your needs. Are they immediate or can you wait?

Those things having been said, there is Trail Days coming up next week. There will be several vendors there and quite a few more Hangers either in town on the trail or in the newly designated spot that is supposed to be in or near Tent City.

If that does not fit your schedule then you might consider attending the SEHHA Campout at Hot Springs (see www.speerhammocks.com for more info) June 8-10. Ed Speers sponsors these and many come not only with their own hammocks but new ideas, different types of hammocks and just interesting talk and friendship. Being in NC you are in the same state or near these two events. You also being in NC are in the same state as Speer Hammocks hails from.

So you really have a lot more options available to you than most do.
