Funny thing is that people in tents think they will be fine since they are in a clearing. I'd rather have 2 trees available to block any potential falling trees.

Yikes!! I'm glad you were ok!! It's terribly frightening in the pitch black to hear trees (or even big limbs) crashing down and not really knowing where they're headed!!

I never said it would matter at all. I just said it made me uncomfortable, and it did. It made everyone else uncomfortable too and they were all sleeping in bear twinkies.

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.

That is a pretty rocky area, close to the water (Little river). Every time I camp there I think "what if?". I still camp there, but I think it every time (since at least 1962) And I have seen the aftermath of a fall, OMG!

Glad you are OK. Just out of curiosity: which site(s) were you in?
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
