I'm off that weekend. So it's penciled in. So should gas stay below $4.00 a gallon I'll try to be there.

Docatri, if I was going to be traveling on Friday, you could ride with me, since you have to go past Lexington to get to Hot Springs. But, I will have been in the area already. I'm heading down to Charlotte to visit my folks and finalize plans and packing with my hiking partner for a couple days before the hangout. You may want to check with HC or Whiskey Joe to se if they're going, since they're both in the same general area as me.

Ewker, except for Saturday night, we usually walk into town and eat at the Smoky Mountain Diner for most meals, unless you'd rather eat at the campsite or another place. The diner is cheap, the food is good and plentiful and there's alway some kind of lively conversation going on. In as much as hiking is concerned, some folks take day hikes while we're there. I was talking to NC Patrick today and he said something about day hikes. I will have just finished my section from I-40 to Hot Springs, but I may consider a short day hike on Saturday as well, possibly.

Hooch, I won't be getting there until late Friday night. So Sat. night you do a cook out??

I can't sit there all day talking or looking at other folks gear. I have to get out and hike.

Enjoy your hike from I-40..you will like Max Patch esp. if it is nice out

Oh, sorry.....Saturday night is the hotdog cookout. It's free, just show up and eat. I'm sure you can get a couple folks to head out on a day hike with you, Ewker. As far as my hike goes, I'm looking forward to Max Patch, I'm planning on having dinner there and watching the sunset before going on to my campsite that night. I'll have to do some night hiking, but it shouldn't take long to get there and get set up. I'm rather looking forward to it.

Ok, that would have worked. Just in case, when are you leaving? I actually get off work Thursday @ 5AM, & don't NEED to be back till 5AM Tuesday.

HC &/or Whisky Joe: You guys going? Want a rider?

Doctari, I'm leaving Lexington on Friday, June 1st to leave for Charlotte. I'll be there until June 4th, then go to Hot Springs to spend the night before our section hike starts. We're hiking June 5-8, winding up in Hot Springs on Friday the 8th for the hangout. Hope to see you there!

BTW, should we start a separate thread to see who's bringing the Blue Moon this time? I'll bring a couple extra cokes for Tim!

I think somebody still has the leftover Blue Moon from last time. After all the hoopla, not a whole lot of Blue Moon was actually consumed.
