Thumbs up VIDEO: Part 1 and Part 2 Linville Gorge, NC Pre-Halloween Hang

Finally!!!! ..... back home to my own abode.......
The Linville Gorge was Healing to my soul and having the chance to meet all the HF members and too get to hang with two dear and old friends of mine, Hickery and The Turk, was a blessing. Hickery and The Turk and I have not all been together in 15 years ..... we go back to Jr. high days and have all 3 backpacked the Gorge together several times in the past.

This video covers Monday night at the top of the Gorge by the Conely Cove Trail with some of the hangers, Mrs. Hangin' Burrito's Banana/Walnut/PeaNut Butter Bread, some set ups, Stormcrows Umberella balance (we are peas-in-a-pod), The Packa, the hike down in the rain and some rigs down by the Linville River.

My camera got wet on the walk down in the rain and died a slow death .... still no pulse...... but got the video off of it. So until I was able to hike up and get my second camera I missed some good footage of the rainy tuesday night. it was fun to huddle under tarps and catch up with Hickery and The Turk and then go tarp to tarp for lil' visits. That was a rain blessing!

    Working on Part 2 today!
Thankee to Stormcrow for additional footage and to Slowhike for letting me use his battery as the one on my second camera was near gone.........

    some pictures below as well.

    All secure in sector seven,
    Shug

Wow, great video, thanks Shug. Sorry to miss it. Beautiful scenery, even in the rain.

ahhh Shug...that Gorge looks like God's Country! Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing the video...too bad I couldn't make this one.
BTW, tell Jerry W that JRB, Speer, WB and the like actually make gear that people can purchase! You don't have to make everything yourself!! (and embarrass the rest of us with your mad DIY skills...WELL DONE!!!)
Sorry to have missed everyone...looked like an outstanding time!

    Great stuff, as usual !
You guys seemed happy enough in the rain.
I guess it's hard to keep a straight face when it's
a halloween maniac behind the camera.

    Looking forward to Part 2.
