    clark knot

Hi guys - i've replaced my original lines with dyneema, and without a stopper knot it's pretty tough to hold the bowline (hammock end). Would someone mind posting a pic of the original clark rope knot at the hammock end so I can try that? Thanks in advance.

I thought that they also used a bowline. I have a bowline on my hammock end and it has worked fine. YMMV

Hey Mak. I don't think it is a bowline you know - in a bowline the free end points down towards the loop, yet in the clark knot, the free end defiinitely pointed upwards towards the other end of the rope.

The rope I have now is so slippery that whilst the free end will hold with a stopper knot, the other end just wants to undo itself and won't hold without being under load.

I don't know the Clark knot, but see this thread on tying bowlines in slippery rope.

Thanks guys. Tina's right, it is a bowline, my memory must have been playing tricks on me.

Knotty, thanks, I actually posted on that thread

    YMMV?

What is this an acronym for? I've seen it a few times, but can't figure it out. Your Method May Vary???

    Thanks in advance.
