    Think... sweat lodge.

It may work, but you might not be pleased with the moisture. Feet especially like to breathe - and can end up with some nasty fungal issues if they don't get enough air.

With the right temperature, conditions, and with a short time frame of use you may find it does the trick. Just be aware of possible problems.

Good points. Possibly a marriage of materials. Just shooting out ideas for someone with lots of reflectix to use. Im sure this is one I will never try. But then again. You just never know.

How about as shoe inserts only? That way the foot could breath thru the sock everywhere but on the bottom. Wouldn't wicking socks help with that?

I just read the thread about using fleece as an inner liner for a top tarp to stay warm... what about using Reflectix instead? That would be EXACTLY what it's built to do -- reflect energy back @ the source! I've read that it doesn't work very well when in contact, but as a tarp liner it'd have space between the "hot body" (person) and itself.

It wouldn't be super packable, but much quieter than a space blanket!

    Just a thought...

I thought it would make a cool inner tarp over your ridge line but under your tarp

I love zombie threads! They come back to life after lying dormant for years.

I made a reflectix cozy for my camping cooler - keeps the ice from melting so fast. Works great. I was eyeing one of those five-day coolers last year but they were a bit pricey. So I thought to myself, why not make a cozy for my existing cooler?

This year I'm gonna add another layer which should further improve the refrigeration capabilities up to four days. Nothing like fresh food on a camping trip.

I see it at Ace Hardware and True Value here in Texas quite often.

Just about any HVAC supplier will have it. You may have trouble purchasing from some as they are wholesale only. Try to find a Johnstone close...maybe Grainger?
