Another idea for the static - use a fabric softener sheet like you put in the drier. Rub it on the fabric. You might need to use a couple of sheets. It will also take a good bit of static from hair.

Here's a few pictures of mine. Same polyester ripstop material as animalcontrol for the bed material with a 1.1 nylon ripstop second layer. The finished size is also 58" x 132" and I used a 112" ridgeline.
This thing is extremely roomy and comfortable. The extra 12" of length makes a world of difference(to me anyway). The second layer is so I can try adding some foot end insulation without it being inside the hammock. I might also try experimenting with some full length Insultex between the layers. The bugnet can be unzipped and rolled up along one side.

It makes sense to use something that helps cut the wind, AND adds fun with making interesting hairstyles
During the nasty cold weather, I had been adding my weathershield over my underquilt. I've been considering using a heavier, more wind-resistant fabric. Less to rig! The weight would probably be a wash.

I can sure see the appeal to a hammock made of this fabric. Is it as soft as the stuff they use for clothing?
The static thing would be a project-killer for me. It's so dry out here to begin with that I can just about power my whole house just by walking around in socks! I'd probably be electrocuted if I tried to roll over in my sleep in one of those hammocks.

the boy laid down and WOW...he was "electrified"
the material was very soft on one side, and grippy on the other. Plenty easy to tell apart

AC and JW, hammocks look great. you can call it Electrified Hammock. now all u need is a socket to plug something into it...
