Welcome to the Forums Mike! I've got a Blackbird on it's way right now and am looking forward to putting it through the paces soon. I have a feeling your back will be thanking you immensely.

Another L4 L5 sufferer here. Just not having to crawl up off the ground in the AM is a huge relief on your lower back. .............Oh and stretching the hammies every day is a lifesaver.

    Thanks everyone.

I gave the hammock a little test yesterday and used the "Light my Fire" to start a fire in the swiss volcano stove to boil water.

Shug, I like most of the same things as you but you can have my livermush if I can have your gravy and biscuits. I do like good gravy and biscuits cooked on a woodstove.

You will probably need more than just a weather shield below you this time of year in Virginia.

Stop by the shop when you are in our corner of the state.

This time of year!? Is it 18" of snow they are forecasting for this storm. Pan's being kind...buy one of everything he sells, an ice saw and that classic book, "Igloos for Dummies," and you're ready to start. And welcome.

    Welcome!

I have met many people among hammock hangers who have recovered from broken backs... it is no secret! Hammocks are good for your back!

At 10am, my house had 14 inches and it was still coming down. Luckily it's powder so we've not had the downed power lines issue that we normally experience with a winter storm. I don't think that the snow is wet enough for an igloo. But since this is the first time that we've had this much since 1979, I can't say for sure.

My order from JRB is out there somewhere in all of this mess.

JMDavis, where in VA are you? I'm in Waynesboro (23 inches at last check).

If you flatter yourself that you are all over comfortable, and have been so a long time, then you cannot be said to be comfortable any more. - Herman Melville
