I go to a buddy's camp up past franklin. right on route 666 by cougar bob's.
The GF and I have ridden out past Kelletvile, but I've never been to Cougar Bob's. It's on the list of "places to stop" in our travels, though. Do you recommend it?

Have you been motorcycle camping before? It sounds like SUCH fun, but I'm worried about room for everything, without buying a Goldwing. haha!

well, cougar bobs is no fancy place by any means but it's so much fun around the holidays or hunting season. the people are nice. decent food for bar food (pizza is good).

i haven't been motorcycle camping. i curious of where to pull off and the bike would be safe or what kind of campgrounds are around that have cheap rates or trees available for hanging. i have some custom made saddlebags that are pretty big so between those and a luggage rack i can fit the kitchen sink.

Good pizza is worth a ride!

From what I've read, a lot of people just pull over and camp... just not in a neighborhood or someone's front yard, of course!

So long as you're away from houses, and not far from the road, people rarely care. This is all second-hand, though!

Of course, there are campgrounds and such if you are running a "planned" trip.

There's even a thread somewhere here where a member (and a group) are planning a "stealth" hang in a park IN A PARK IN BROOKLYN! Can't get much less worried than that!

i think i'd keep my bike out of brooklyn. i thought it would be cool to just pull off and camp but i'd put a chain and a fork lock on my bike. if you want to hang in the spring or do an overnight bike ride let me know. the allegheny national forest would be awesome to do a night or even a weekend hike and hang.

A bike trip sometime sounds great. We (the GF and I) need to get her saddle bags in, and on her bike. Maybe after the snow's all gone!

g'night, and talk to you soon!

    NCPatrick: Howdy Back!

Shug: I travel for a living, too. Things have been slooooow lately... next job lined up is APRIL! sheesh! Usually I'm only home for a weekend or two a month, thus one of the reasons I'm interested in hammock camping. I hope to get set up to start taking my V-Star on the road, and camp on the way. This whole "UL" idea may be the key.
