Youre best bet if you dont currently use a RL would be an adjustable one. Everyones RL length differs based on their own comfort.

Once you have established your ideal RL length, then you can go with a fixed. But Id wager RL lengths and comfort not only differ from one to another, but also differ from hammock to hammock.

I've found that to be mostly true. I lay a little differently in every different style hammock I have. The differences make each hammock have a slightly different ideal to me length. However, I'm only talking about an inch here and there. I can get comfortable anywhere between 99" and 103". Outside of that is where I really start to notice a difference in comfort. YMMV.

I can see that... I noticed a pretty significant change between 96" and 95" in my WB Traveler.

Once I get my HH back, Ill swap out the fixed RL for an adjustable...

And then when my Switchback arrives....

I just got an ENO and was thinkin of doin just that. Kinda like those big pillow shams that come with bedding sets where the slit is side to side. One half would overlap the other half. I'd probably have the slit on inside of hammock so that it didn't bulge open when I got in.

I took my Eno single out for spin today along the river, after spending sometime in it I am thinking that I need to find a way to wrangle my sleeping pad from moving around since it sure likes to slide around a lot... Any tips would be great but all I can think of is some type of sleeping pad sleeve to hold it in place.

I also am finding that the strips of green fabric near my head are a bit annoying, but I don't mind it near my feet so I am thinking on adding a taper to it so they are no so big near my face or may adding a spreader bar.

Other then that the whoopies, adjustable ridge line (thanks for those Ken!) work well, I also sewed up some pockets for the ridge line, and added a wedge of untreated Sil to the foot of the hammock to make a foot box since I often kick my quilt off at night.

I'm looking forward to getting my new tarp in the mail so I can go do some overnighters with this setup!

Have you looked at the Speer SPE? For in-hammock pad management, it's probably the best method so far. A DIY version would be easy enough to make.
