I overlooked your link, but I'm confident that is the make and model I'm thinking of. Somebody has a photo of it in the HF gallery, but I don't recall who.

    It's a long story...you don't want to know.

But yeah, you read my mind.

My thermometer is on my watch. I take it off and lay it on the ground just at the edge of my tarp. I wait about 30 minutes then check it.
    I slept out last night.

    Here's a pic:

I'm currently saving pennies for a Krestrel 3500. I was actually going through the check-out process for a 2000, but then decided I'd like to have the Altimeter function on the 2500. Then, I saw the specs on the 3500 and thought to myself that the price difference wasn't that great between the 2500 and the 3500, but I get Dewpoint and Relative Humidity readings too! I was going to opt for the NV model, but I don't plan to do any long distance shooting at night anytime soon.

So, what started as a 'done deal' purchase of something that served my 'needs' well enough became a delayed purchase of something that satisfies all my 'wants' too. I don't like the fact that I have to wait now; stupid gear budgets. However, I should have it in time for the 1st Annual Colorado Winter Hang. Gotta have something new to show-off with ya know.
    Trust nobody!
