    Swallowing Pills...

Dyna-Glide "slips" by design, so it reduces damage to trees as it slides over limbs and bark, but it grips exceptionally well when used with buries.

    Just a thought... how about:
    (1) Burying a double thickness "pill" into where you want your "line knot."
    (2) Using Jeff's Method #2 to thread your line and secure your tubing.

    (A) Double Thickness "Pill" using a small gauge wire snare:

Ill be curious to see how you keep the "pill" stationary buried in the line.

It hasn't given me issues thus far , but thinking now I guess it could over time. If this prooves to be a factor: (a) whip or (b) tie wrap both sides of the pill, or (c) throw a thread lock through it.

The Thera Band exerts a considerable amount of force on the stopper knots.

I think its eaiser to just tie a stopper knot in the line. All it does is give the zip tie a "backer". Allows the TB to stretch.

Are you currently using this method for tensioning guy lines?

Yup. I never would have thought of using a non-stretch line and adding line tensioners to it, but some majically showed up in my box one day , so... The ridgeline should have need the first project, but loops and UCR's captured my interest first in the form of my tarp out lines.

I'm currently playing with a set of tensioning double loops from DynaGlide to prusik onto my ridgeline. I may have to go to another form of rescue hitch to gain a little more friction on my new ridgeline. I think I'll need to tweek this setup a bit, just one of those gut feelings.

I want to test how well the prusik will work with the DynaGlide. I think I'll need to tweek this setup a bit.
I know the 1.75 Zing It holds well on the Dynaglide. I havent tried putting a Dyanglide prusik on a Dynaglide main line.

I do know that the 1.75 prusik slips around 30 pounds when its on a 1.75 main line. Thats with 4 wraps.

    Post edit response.

Ive been playing with different sorts of friction hitches... Klemheist, French Prusik....

Im going to try the Distel next...

Heres a pretty good overview of friction hitches...

I've been following this thread for a bit, and sort of found it funny that no one was actually talking about the OP. That said, 6-9# does seem about right. I know I pull my tie-outs fairly tight. I have sling-shot sections in my lines. They are ~10" in their relaxed state and I stretch them to 2.5' once I have them tied out. I'd probably need a fish-scale of some sorts to actually measure the tension. I doubt 4# would do it, but that's just me. I always crank down my fly tie-outs.

6-9 is what Im shooting for as well. I think I may have found it....Just waiting on it to arrive.

I may have also found an alternative to the Thera Band. Time will tell.
