Interest Sought for an Official HF Australian East Coast Hang Out

This a call out to our Aussie HF brethren and um... sistren (?) as well as any UnAustralians out there (yeah, you know who you are) who may be visiting the Wide Brown Land. I'd like to discuss the possibility of an official HF Australian east coast hang out for 2010.

Location and Time? Well, that's what we're here to discuss.

    Who's interested?

    East coast hang out

Hey guys I'm From the Blue Mountains and a hang up here would be great. Just started to get back into hiking and haven't had a chance to take my hammock out yet!

I'd consider joining this illustrious group if it weren't for the Tiger snakes and the brown snakes!

I land in Sydney on Feb 11-ish and will be heading west from there. I'm on a loose schedule of heading west. Let me know if it comes up when I will be there and I'll try.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?

    Good idea H.

We've got a few locals - I'm about 100 klicks south of Sydney myself, so if I'm not up north in QLD in Feb, even a mini-hang with just a few of us and Coffee would be a goer. That way the "Official" hang-out is still on the table if we can't get it organised for next month.

Location for a mini-hang during the Feb timeframe? Anywhere in the Blue Mountains is good for me - Lithgow/Lower Wollemi, Katoomba/Jameson Valley. Morton Nat Park is VERY good for me - Meryla Pass to Kangaroo Valley is always nice. Royal National Park is pretty good for me. Nattai would be good as well - Starlights to Yerranderie would be a nice one for showing a Northern Hemispherian some of our natural fauna (huge mobs of eastern grey roos at dawn and dusk as well as big-arsed goannas).

Due to time constraints, an overnighter or two-nighter would be best for me.

Pazza, would you be up for a Feb mini-hang with Coffee?

Count me in! I can do 13-15 feb or 24-25 feb for a small group hang, and with enough notice, could do the Official Hang later. Sounds like a great idea and thanks for getting the organisation happening!

    Awesome Kerri.

Let's all discuss some locations for the mini-hang.

I've already put forward the following:

    Blue Mountains
    Royal Nat Park
    Morton Nat Park
    Nattai River

If folks could add to the list we can get a vote happening.

Coffee, is there anywhere you know of within 70 miles or so of Sydney that you've been itching to see (for hammocking that is)?
