Some weather--hands on. At my house (3800 feet) as I left today between 2-3 inches and this was left over from last weeks little snow and somewhat leftover from the 20 incher 4 weeks ago...everyone in the city (Johnson City) are already stocking up at the groceries and gas stations like they always do (usually the elderly)...on the radio they say the big snow wont get to east Tn/w.NC until tomorow evening....you never know it may trend north and miss us all together but I really dont think we'll dodge this one, the path is too wide. So snow at Mt.Rogers is gauranteed because it's already there....BUT for those doubting if they can get there, if you leave in the morning and get there by 4-6pm it should be no problem. Just one man's opinion.
Thanks MedicineMan ! We are planning to leave Columbia SC around 8:00 am on Fri morning and plan to be there by 1:00. Hopefully an uneventful drive and a brisk walk will have Josh and I set up before Mother Nature sends her "blessings" upon us.
Hope everyone coming has the same uneventful drive and arrives with the same spirit in which this hang was originally intended for.

Just got a phone call from Doctari. He's at Mt Rogers and said the road is plowed to Massie gap parking lot but not beyond. Hopefully they will keep it plowed for Sunday's departure.
If the snow beats me there, I'm going to pulk the road to the campground, then head up the trail to the shelter from there.
