Is there a prominent warning on the packaging or web site that they are not for use where human safety is involved?
The idea reminds me of some of the America's Funniest Videos that I've seen on TV.

I'm pretty sure they have "not rated for climbing" on them.
Yeah, I have the small carabiner ones. "Not for Climbing"
They're rated at 50lbs - My guess is the rope tightener and not the carabiner
either way not really an issue as I use them on my tarp ridgeline
From the web site (the packaging directs users to the web site):
"Warning: Not for use where disengagement could result in bodily injury or property damage. Not for climbing. Manufacturer is not responsible for loss, injury, or damage due to improper use of product."
150lb Figure 9

I posted on this a while back. I use the large caribiner F9's. Got about a dozen trips under my belt with them. I posted asking if I was destined to be on my xxs one day and the response was mostly positive - or I guess negative - whatever, there were a lot of other folks hanging with them. (I'm 175)
Each to their own but I sure wouldn't hang on them. And like Dutch said, they are hard on your rope. There are alternatives that are just as easy to use. Grizz got me hooked on using marlin spikes.
