Is it better to use a knot to secure the dead eye from the hammock or a locked brummell

I've switched to locked brummels. I would use a longer bury length since you will be hanging from it!

    brummel or stitching.

Dont rely on a stopper knot to back up the bury.

    OPie,

Do you use these on whoopies you make for sale?

Yes. I used to stitch. Now I use a Locked Brummel splice exclusively. On everything. The Amsteel Blue, the Zing It, Lash It and Dynaglide.

Thanks. Could not see any stitching on mine so I was wondering. Cool!

If you look right at the throat of the fixed eye youll see what looks like some weaving going on. Thats the brummel or "marlin splice."
