Great job on that chair. After seeing Stoikurt's tyvek Jerry chair at the Pinhoti hang this went to the top of my list. I discussed using my bridge spreader bars since I don't use poles so it looks like they will work. I may have to try this insulated idea. Thanks for posting the detailed report

    Thanks turnerminator and hangNout!

The poles seemed a good length. Although to be honest, setting the poles while taking your seat was the most awkward moment of the whole chair use experience, since they don't have tips like hiking poles to firmly plant. While repositioning them, it is possible for the poles to fall out of the sleeve, or become disconnected. When that happens, it is hard to correct from behind your back. But this can be avoided with a little care and practice. Just a tiny learning curve for looser fitting poles.

Very clever. I never envisioned all the possible multi-uses for the Jerry Chair. You're all coming up with some great ideas.

Very nice! Looks like it will make for TOASTY warm fire-sitting!

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

Thanks bonsaihiker, your post about the 3 in 1 design is what got me going on making this (the link is on the first post of this thread). While mine won't work for a pack cover, I noticed your chair has channels that could be used to cinch it up along the sides as I have done for a wrap-around chair. It might take replacing the orange cord with elastic chords, maybe just along the two end channels.

I agree with your idea that this will make sitting around the campfire a warm toasty experience.

I have another alternate use for my Jerry chair, since I have recently purchased a top-notch 2/3 down UQ from hangNout's household. I can use this for leg and feet insulation either inside or hung below the hammock (I'll need to experiment).

    Thanks again Jerry, and Bonsaihiker!
