It looks very similar to "fuzzy" lines like Maffioli (swiftcord) or Robline. These are dyneema rope usually with a tracer made of something else to fuzz it up. Swiftcord has cordura, Salsa line has Spun polyester, newswift has polypro. They are single braids but the weave of the rope is very different. If your product is similar to one of these, shipped to you by mistake, it will be tough to make a whoopie sling from it.

I found this link, and it appears he is not having the same problem, of course his buries are extremely short.

    Hiya,

Yes that's the stuff, and that video was the reason I bought the 'Spectwelve', thinking it would be suitable for a Whoopie Sling :-(

Anyhow, here's the reply from the shop:

    Hi there,

you bought the cosmetic second 3mm from Ebay. That rope has not had the colour line threaded the same way as the spectra, so they move independently, and as you found, once you start to splice the rope the blue fleck line starts to loop. The rope is still very strong - but we suggest that you cut away the blue fleck line to improve its cosmetics.
Our rope sold off our main store does not suffer from that problem........it works the normal way.
So, a bit of a shame that 'cosmetic second' actually meant 'somewhat more than cosmetic second', but there you go. At least it was strong enough not to drop me on my at the weekend, and the sling itself worked fine. Maybe I'll get around to picking out the blue strands when I'm sitting around a campfire one day!!

Thanks for all your help folks!
