Okay just having a closer look at my BB, there isn't a webbing loop on my model just a length of black cord behind the bundle.

Will the chain link method still work without the loop to feed it through ? Is the webbing loop really that important. Maybe I have an older model of the BB ??

are you talking about the cord wrapped around behind the whipped mass, or is there a length of cord tied to the hammock behind that. I also bought mine used from a member here, he had it set up for the line and tree hugger suspension, and kept the huggers. If this is the case, you will need to get some replacement huggers, or change the suspension to something else. hope this helps.

as far as weather or not the chainlink will work, yes if you have a long line hanging from the ends you just have to remove it, and put on the chainlink. the looped straps are used to wrap around the trees that you are hanging from. there are some who don't use them, they just put twigs between the line and the tree to protect the bark. If you don't have a long line hanging from the hammock ends then the line you are looking at is what is used to hold the whipping together. DON'T REMOVE THIS!!!! you will need to then put a chainlink or other type of line on the hang from. like I said in my above post, the line that holds the whipping together should be wrapped tight around the end several times just behind the large knot-like mass, not hanging from the end. you probably are in the same situation I was in when I bought mine, and just need to get some buckles/rings and some tree staps.

there is thin black string holding the whipping together, the amsteel can all be removed, just be careful to look how it's done and re-do the same way.

    Thanks Guys

I might have a play around and make a 10" loop with a double fishermans knot and see how that works for creating an attachment for the karabiner.

I've kind of loosened off the existing suspension cord and it looks to be easy enough.

I'll have go tomorrow and post up some pics if it works.

I managed to get a couple of whoopie sling loops from Gill so I've replaced the suspension cord with that. Two minutes of a job.

Thanks for all the advice guys
