    Tubular nylon straps

I know that conventional wisdom is that nylon straps stretch more than polypro but I was looking at straps dot com and according to that site tubular nylon straps only stretch approximately 2%.

That's only 2" for an 8' strap. Surely that would be fine for tree huggers when only a fraction of the total length would be available to stretch anyway.

Am I thinking right or am I missing something?

    Thanks.

I don't understand the attraction of tubular straps as opposed to flat straps. Not saying there isn't an attraction... I just don't know what it would be. I use polypro and have never had a complaint.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Hmmm 2% stretch at what % of breaking strength?

All the tubular nylon I've seen has been rather heavy.

Good question, Oh No, I don't know.

I don't think that there is much of a difference between the nylon vs polyester for use as tree straps. For its intended purpose of distributing the pressure over a wider area, you would want to use a wider flat piece of webbing instead of a tube, though.

The tubular nylon is much heavier that standard webbing. But it will work just fine.
