I did round .... read it was stronger but that is debatable.
I did a double patch of sil on the inside of my tarp and my grosgain loop on the outside. Then seam seal well.

I've used little squares of Dyneema, and I've also used a double layer of sil. Attached on the underside of the tarp. I did a box stitch.

I've had plenty of wind testing time, and never noticed any stress to the fabric with these.

If you go to my website (linked below), the gallery has an "Other" section with images of how it's done at Backwoods Daydreamer. It may be worth a look to give you some more ideas.

I thought I saw a round patch in one of the tarp videos, I even tried to stop it to see better.

I like the double size of Sclittlefields also.

Back to the thread injector to add pullouts now. Thanks all

As it appears to me, a round patch distributes stress more evenly around the perimeter (due to minimal angular change and equidistance from the attachment point).

For more strength, I'd make it bigger (to distribute stress over a larger area), adding (smaller and concentric) layers as necessary, to feather the force as it were.

Have you had trouble with yours?

Completed the sewing but haven't sil'd the tarp yet.

Ended up changing the process from my original drawing. Sewed each half of the tarp before putting them together. Folded grosgrain ribbon into all the rolled hems, for strength, and didn't use reinforcement patches at the tie outs. Added mosquito net line pockets on the underside of the tie out points.

Very nice looking tarp and I really like the locking guyline adjustments at the pull outs.
