    SE Michigan Hammock Newbie

    Hi all!

Not new to backpacking, but very new to hammocking. Right now my wife and I have a Moskito by Byer, some Amsteel, and an almost waterproof blue Home Depot-type tarp. We'll see what happens and maybe get into something a little more serious if we seem to like it.

Are there ever any Michigan hammock hangs where we could check out some of the good stuff?

Thanks for all the great info. already on the site!

There might be a Southern MI hang somewhere near Gargoyle in the summer (Aug/Sept), but nothings been determined yet - just the idea thrown around. My guess is there will be (if it's after Jul I'll be there).

Check out the Hoosier Hang. http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=12802 Its a bit of a drive but there should be lots of gear to check out as well as lots of creative people to meet. Many there will not be Hoosiers so you will fit in fine.
