    I need help

Im going to order some polypro webbing to replace my slapstraps. What width should I get? How much should I get for each side? I want to use the cinch buckle or the rings method. Where can I get the rings and what size do I need? Im new at this and all answers are much appreciated. Thanks!

1" webbing will work, 12' for each side of the hammock is a good starting point. I like polyester much better than polypro. Are you sure you want cinch or ring buckles? All the cool kids are using whoopie slings now...

I agree with the whoopie slings. I just converted from cinch buckles and biners, and I am not going back. In fact, thanks to Gargoyle, I have some dynaglide whoopies and they are amazing. I also have amsteel whoopies from Opie and I love them as well. I am thinking multiple applications for the concept when I canoe.

I think the 2" OD, 1.5" ID SMC descending rings used to be pretty popular before the whoopie slings. IIRC, you have to tie a backup knot when using those. The cinch buckles don't need that.

I think Arrowhead is coming out with new buckles that look great.
