Looks fantastic! Did you sew thru or use very small baffles? I bet sew thru would make a great summer quilt - nice and quick.

Looks great! I've been thinking about making a lighter quilt for summer and this was just the bump I needed.

yes i should have posted that...it's sewn through....i didn't think baffles were needed for a summer quilt...
it's 64 degrees out and i tried them together both the TQ and UQ i made and i was hot...so i will say 50 degrees...amybe 45 is the limit for them ...
so mid april to beginning of Oct would be the tims i would use them
it just fits me too LOL...i cut this one way close
after making this quilt set you really get a feel for what Stormcrow and Paul go through ...it's alot of work...i would pull my hair out if i had to make 3 a days non stop
next i'm going to try Tarps ....
also packs down really small...about the size of a softball...but i like to pack it loose...help take up dead air in my pack

Awesome job! I really would like to have a very lightweight down summer quilt but don't think I have the skill set to make one. Nobody makes one that light and the closest is JRB's Shenandoah which is still way more than I need. Hopefully somebody will make one someday

Thanks everyone....SB this is only the 5th thing i make so far...i'm still new to sewing...
it's really not that hard...the first one took forever...and i made some boo boo's
but after that it's been smooth sailing...the worst part about it is it takes time...can't rush it...but in the end...it pays off

Nice glp, your gonna be one big bluebird now. I'm thinking a tarp will be easy for you after dealing with baffles and down.
I'm putting off dealing with the down and baffles, your a brave man.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
i hope the tarp is easy LOL...
but first i'm going to make my Bugnet Sock....bug season is almost here
then i'll work on a tarp...my goal with the tarp is to make a UL tarp for hammocks...must be under 13oz ...so i might try Spinn or Cuben ...not sure yet...i know it will be a Cat cut ...with removable doors for the winter time

Great job. Makes me want to buy a machine and get at it. I was a sailmaker for many years and had some mad sewing skills. Could do 70 foot seams and it looked like it was done on a ruler. I was cheating of course with a sewing pit in the floor and two guys helping move the sail for me while I steered the machine.
Have a hard time justifying the purchase of a $1000 used Juki though so I just ordered me a Mamajamba SpinnUL from WB. Maybe by fall I will get up the courage and just get a machine and make the doors for it.
Keep up the good work. From what it looks like tarps are gonna be a piece of cake for you!
