There is a fellow named Sam, who I see selling a single wall, floor-less, tent at Trail Days, which he calls the Appy Trails.

He stuffs/compresses his tents using a somewhat similar method as you have described. The difference is that he compresses the tent inside the stuff sack, then while the tent is compressed , just twist the bag a few times, then fold or push the open end of the stuff sack over the part of the sack with the compressed tent. Then tighten the sack draw string.

Its not a great picture, but if you look at the bottom picture on the left side at the link below, you can see, if you look closely that the top of the bag is pulled over the the compressed tent. It may be easier to do than the method you describe. I suppose you would have to try both methods to see if you can gain more compression one way or the other.

    Compress the hammock.
With thumb and forefinger, gather/pinch the excess stuff sack fabric as tightly as possible against the compressed hammock.
Twist the the bag 2 or 3 times.
Pull the excess stuff sack fabric over the outside of the compressed hammock.
    Tighten the draw cord.

Easier to do than to explain. No big deal, both ways appear to work.

I like both ways but currently Im not useing woopies so David Wa that is a great suggestion. Although between my BB and my Bear Paw pillow it fits into the bishop sack nicely
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I am 30.. dunno if you consider it young or not but trust me, you dont wanna see me shirtless.. lol

Thanks for the video, im a visual learner too.. and on specific occasion where free space is critical in my backpack, i now know that its possible to compress the BB by approx 50%... even tho in the back of my head, i don't like to mess with my shelter in the wilderness..

It's real easy so sew a cinch strap to the bottom of the sack, much like ENO does on all it's hammocks. Instant compression sack!
