    ridgeline tightness

OK so i just set up my new WBBB (Thanks WB GUY!) and i have a question about the built in ridgeline. when i hung it it was super loose when i got in it. so i tightened the straps and it firmed up the ridgeline but to me it looks too tight now, i didnt lay in it cause what i had it hooked to wasnt the strongest so i didnt wanna risk it. is this normal?

Your WBB ridgeline shouldn't be super tight. Warbonnet Guy has a YouTube video that goes into how to setup the hammock and details how loose the ridgeline should be when you are in the hammock.

I would check the angle of your straps. 25 to 30 degrees is what they are suppose to be. Also, try not to use trees that are at an angle. You want relatively straight trees. Trees that are at angles require you to hang either really high or low to get the correct angle.

Well when i first laid in it it was like limp (but the post on the left started creaking so i got out). but the pick above i snugged up the sraps and it firmed the line, dose the angle look ok in the pick?

To me, it looks like the strap hooked onto the house post needs to be loosened. It looks like it doesn't have enough of an angle to it. The one on the palm tree looks about right but could use a little more angle.

One thing I've observed is that the WBBB hammock ridgeline when the hammock is empty is quite loose. I actually have to get into the hammock to determine if the pitch is about right. With weight in the hammock, the ridgeline gets tighter. It gets much easier to get this right with practice.

I also find that being a bit too "loose" is better than being too "tight".
