    Announcement - Partnership Agreement

    For Immediate Release--Friday, April 23, 2010

It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that Speer Hammocks, Inc. announces a strategic partnership which grants Tree to Tree Trail Gear of Elizabeth City, North Carolina exclusive rights to manufacture and market certain Speer Hammocks products including Hammocks, Hammock Kits, CatTarps, PeaPods and TopBlankets. The transition of manufacturing and sales will take place over the coming weeks with no anticipated disruption to the remarkable service our customers have come to expect.

Speer Hammocks is utilizing this transition period to discontinue unprofitable lines including SnugFits, WinterTarps and SPEs. Once our current inventory of these items is depleted, they will no longer be available.

Speer Hammocks, Inc. will continue to actively participate in the promotion of the Speer Hammock product line and the activity of Hammock Camping. We will also continue our research and development of hammock camping gear and anticipate the release of a new tarp to complement the existing Speer line this summer.

We are very excited about this venture with Tree to Tree Trail Gear as they share our strong commitment to Quality Products and Customer Satisfaction. This partnership will enable Speer Hammocks to expand our manufacturing capabilities in order to offer our customers increased options and greater availability of product.

    Thanks for the information Ed.

Very interesting news - does this mean big sales on remaining stock?

By the way, I just checked your website, and all the links are broken - everything is referencing the files' location on the hard drive. Just FYI.

Until Ed gets home, you can still access SpeerHammocks.com by starting here:
    http://www.speerhammocks.com/Products/Products.htm

Just don't click on the link for the "Home/Products" page. All of the other pages appear to be working fine.

Congratulations Ed. I hope this partnership works out for you. I would hate that the hammocking community lose your wonderful contributions, just because of business issues.

BTW: I just ordered some materials for a very lightweight, down under quilt, suitable for mid-summer nights in most places and winter here in Florida :-)
