Thanks for the replies. An article would be very helpful as it is difficult to sift through some of those threads.

Wallace - I don't think that was me in Damascus because I have never been to Damascus. Guess there are more people using this name.

You are right. I met "Nightwalker" and he had a new HH. My mind put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5.

Just got 6 buckles in the mail today. 2 are going to Nightwalker and the rest are for replacing my rings.

Yea it's all your fault. I think that seed has sprouted to others around here.

The post that you offered to send FF those buckles is what made me consider them. Thanks!

    on a related note:

i just tested some of the www.owfinc.com 1"polyester webbing. it seemed to be good enough stretch-wise; i only tested 6' of it though. it is available by the foot. it only comes in woodland camo. they told me i was 2000# tensile, and it weighs 45% less than the strapworks 1".

    strapworks 1": 11.1 grams/ft, 3500#
    owf 1": 6.1 grams/ft, 2000#

Cool, I figured someone would try it sooner or later.
Now I'll have to place an order....

Just got thru sewing the loops for my OWF polyester 1" woodland green camo webbing www.owfinc.com/Hardware/Shardware/webbing.asp
I sewed 3 box stitches per webbing. 24' total length
It weighs the same as Speer 1" poly webbing. Maybe 0.1 oz more.
    This stuff looks really nice.
