    AT Access in NC

I'm planning a section of the AT terminating in Hot Springs from the North. I've done some map recon and need to know if the AT is accessible from Bald Mountain Road between the Jerry Cabin Shelter and the Little Laurel Shelter. If so, that would be perfect for the mileage we're looking for. Otherwise, we'd have to do the Devil Fork Gap to Allen Gap and drive to Hot Springs for the final night.

I'm hiking with some very rusty backpackers so I'm staying conservative with mileage (6-8 miles per day) considering a late morning start on the first day and finishing at Hot Springs on the third day.

    Thanks!
