    My Homemade Gear

Hello - I'm new to the forums, but have been reading them for a little while - thanks to all for the ideas and tips.

I'd like to see more pictures of gear that people have made and compare notes.

Here is a picture of my first attempt hammock - made from stuff I had laying around, $11.00 of material from Wallyworld and some patient sewing instruction from my wife.

We went to the beach last week and I tried it out - it rained all week, but with some adjustments after the first night I stayed dry - and slept great.

This week I am going to curve and hem the edges of the tarp - then on Friday I leave for a long weekend solo bike tour with this and the penny stove I made this summer.

    Post some more pics!
