as an adition to this great idea, here is a similar solution that involves no new spliceing and could be done in the field.similar to melzes other idea from this thread post 45
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...t=17093&page=5

so you start with what you allready have.a ridgeline end that has a locked loop on it,and a prusic
    [IMG][/IMG]

first tie a overhand knot in loop of prusic
second form fixed end loop into loose larkshead

    [IMG][/IMG]

third pull loose larkshead around tree and over knotted prusic and tighten

    [IMG][/IMG]

    done

    OR...
Use a marlin spike hitch on the main line and hook your eye on the toggle.

I retract my statement above, im convinced, will allow me to ditch the fig 9 hardware. Finally a hardware less AND knotless setup. BTW what size dynaglide are you guys using in these setups?

This whole idea of this was to avoid loosing a nacrabiner...this way it's integrated into the end of the line, if you loose it you've lost your whole ridgeline.
Not necessary to feed the ridge line through the bowline - simply insert a bight through the bowline, insert toggle (a small trail stick) through bight and pull bight tight.

Faster and simpler than a nacrabiner (in-line or separate).
Those who sacrifice freedom for safety, have neither.

I really like the nacrabeaner spliced to the end of the tarp line. No metal to possibly damage the tarp when stowing.
