for that use (pull outs) your going to be pulling pretty much strait out most of the time any way. but occasionally i'll use a branch that's off set in an odd direction, just because it's convenient & it serves the purpose.

those clips are a much better design for this than the old style griff clips i that have. i probably bought them over 15 years ago & the line attaches to one side only.
i'll take a picture later just for reference.
but i believe i'll have to get some of the newer griff clips.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

Try a scrap of balloon to prevent the sliding.

Look like they are designed the same way. Do they have some way to attach a guy line?

I used them on a homemade tarp tent. I staked the tie outs to the ground to gain some internal volume. By morning, they were no longer taut and the volume was mysteriously missing. All due to slippage.

yes, i've used them too. make sure to pull them straight out. i had some slide and damage the sil. didn't make a hole or anything, but definately permanently distorted/stretched the sil.

I was looking through Cannibal's pics and I saw where he is using the grip clips to tie out the shoulder area of his Warbonnet El Dorado. That's a pretty awesome use for these clips and I just had to bring it to the group's attention.

Yes, I like that. A person could also do similar things to hang up wet rain jackets & stuff.
