Unless it is raining I like to get to camp and settle a while ... a cigar and a perimeter walk..... looking for MY perfect hang spot.
Guess it is an age thing .... but I do not rush the morning anymore. BFTH and a good morning constitutional are the order of a new day.
If I need to speed I just get up earlier and just kinda focus on the pack.
Used to do the big BlackBishop but had to many tangles pulling it all out due to a less than perfect putting it all in!

I look forward to seeing the speediness report though ikemouser.

Really want to know my methodology? It's very technical.

I waded everything up and wrapped it in Spinn. Took a Sharpie pen and marked where to cut. Guesstimated a few things to get it to be a tight fit, then just made a standard stuff sack, buttonholed a spot on the bottom for my suspension line to come out of, and I'm done. I think it took about 15 minutes from thought to creation. I'll try to pull some actual measurements off of it tonight to help you with a 'guide' of sorts.

Just pretend you're wrapping a gift for yourself.

I don't use separate stuff sacks and just put my gear directly into my backpack -- it's one big stuff sack anyway. On a few occasions, I've left the under quilt, hammock, and top quilt all attached and simply stuffed it directly into my backpack (inside a trash compactor bag, for weather protection). This is pretty fast, if that's what your looking for.

I used to time myself setting up and taking down a hammock, but that was during my tent transition days when I was still amazed at how efficient the hammock system became. I don't really care about how fast I am any more; I'm confident camp chores are more efficient and simpler than ever before.

Shug brings up a valid point about using the big bag, you are bound to get something tangled up in something else at some point.
It doesn't happen to me too often, but it is something that happens.

I like to sit and relax for the first few minutes at camp, then take my time getting everything set the way I want it. When I break down camp I want to take the time to make sure I have everything. I still find that I can set or break camp with a hammock faster than I could with my tent and it was an easy to pitch one. A minute or two more or less really means very little to me, I am still going to hike as long as I want to and get to where I want to, even if I have to pick up the pace a little. But normally I am the last one in a group, stopping for pictures, finding a spot to stare at the view. I try to enjoy all of the minutes no matter the task at hand, hiking cooking, setting up camp, building a fire. It's just better to be in the woods than not. I don't want to rush any part of it. YMMV

I don't really try to rush my camp setup, but I do have some stuff set up so I can set up and tear down fast if I need to - like in a storm.

One thing that helped a lot was to put figure 9's directly on the cord loops on my MSR ground hog stakes, and leave my guylines attached directly to my tarp. Combined with snakeskins on the tarp to help keep things from tangling, and figure 9 carabiners for the tarp ridgeline, I can get my tarp up very fast if needed.

I've done the bishop bag with all the insulation inside, but I found it to be too bulky for winter setups, so I only do it in warmer weather.
