    Thanks to all!

We had a very successful hang indeed. I think our headcount was around 15-16.

I got there around 11am Friday, donned my backpack, slung the HUGE camo, hunters bag full of hammocks, UQs, sleeping bags, & tarps over my shoulder, and headed for the trailhead for the mile hike to the beautiful piney grove hang site. Around 11:45am I got there dropped the pack and hunters bag and laid down on the pine needle floor and rested for awhile.

By 12:15, I got 3 hammocks set-up when I looked over and saw RF coming into camp. We had just got our hammocks set-up when he looked at me and said," Do you hear that?" It had been thundering a bit and the sound that he had heard, was like wind coming through the trees, but it wasn't!
After a minute it started raining, than it REALLY started raining! For about an hour it just poured. We had gotten under my tarp that was set-up like a baker's tarp and it was great. We sat and ate lunch and just watched it come down. Around 4pm RF had to leave to go home, so I walked back down to the parking lot with him and hiked on back to camp. I decided to come back down to meet up with Mac, Thing one, Nooner, Hedcase, and his son Cameron, at 7:30.
Well, Mac rolls in at 8 and Nooner wasn't with him. I guess something came up, (we missed ya' buddy). We decided to wait for Hedcase and Cameron, so at 9pm we all headed up the trail. The mist and fog added to the excitement of the night hiking, (we coud've done without the humidity though, huh guys?) Little Cameron was so funny on the way up. He was constantly asking Hedcase, "This is great isn't it Daddy?" He's a cool kid.
They all got set up and we sat by the light of my homemade tea candle lantern, and talked until about mid-night. Cameron had sacked out at 10.

In the morning we awoke to the sun coming up and had our coffee, tea, Pop-tarps etc. I headed down the trail once again to meet up with my crew at 10. They arrived and we hiked up and everyone met and shortly afterwards other's started to filter in. We had lunch and some of us hiked John Rock while the others decided to get wet in the nearby waterfalls and stream. After, we all came back and enjoyed the campfire and each others company until around 10-11pm when everyone drifted off to their hammocks and a good nights rest.

We awoke to the birds chirping, a light mist coming through the trees with the sunshine and nice temps too. We ate breakfast, and everyone started to break down camp and by 11am, all but RF & I were there. He headed off down and I finished up and looked around at the empty site and that same ole' bittersweet feeling came over me like it does at every end of a hang, I was a happy man. God had held off the rain all weekend, The Burrito Clan had a wonderful 1st hang, and all is good. I turned and headed off down the trail, feeling a very blessed soul indeed!

This hike had a lot of kids, and they were all wonderful! All the kids helped maintain the campfire, and they all spent time with each other. Cameron was cool and fun loving, very Calvin-like... Allie was a bundle of energy, fearless and sociable... very Hobbs-like. Torrie was a joy to speak with, and never said a bad word about her sister. Davis was most polite and witty. Thing1 did not stay back with the kids who went down the waterfall... instead, she led the hike to John Rock, very Stormcrow-like, always way out in front of us and never sweating!

I loved Cameron's teeshirt: Will Trade Sister for Rusty Surfboard!

Thanks guys. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics, my camera every time I took it out, the lens would fog up from the humidity or I simply forgot to grab it.
I know, I know, IDIOT!! Hopefully Mac will come through with some good ones. I know he was getting some video.
