I was contomplating those tarps but the weight penalty seems serious, haha. the only reason i considered the dryfly is b/c i thought they would offer great coverage which apparently they dont. Im definatley goin witht he mac cat standard , 11.8 oz you cant go wrong plus all the great testimonails behind them. thanks for the suggestion though.

So another general question for those of you who do own a mac cat. Is the standard sufficient or should i go for the delux. i have the HH asym exped so it is a little bigger than the ultralight obviously. So if anyone has this hennessey and can give me some info on what size mac cat to buy it would be much appreciated. thanks

Go for the deluxe! You'll appreciate it when you're "rained in".

If it helps Just Jeff's site has a good comparison photos of several tarps.
Also, OES has a photo of all three sizes overlapped.

I think the concensus among those who own MacCat tarps is that the standard is good, but the deluxe is better. There is only an additional 2oz with the deluxe, and it only costs $20 more. Like I said, if I had it to do all over again, I'd go with a MacCat and probably a deluxe at that. Just my $0.02.

No sweat, man. I'm happy to help. I'm actually glad that someone can learn from my mistake. I'm hoping to be able to abandon my Dryfly for something DIY in the fairly near future.

Yeah, it is a relly cool looking tarp. Plus, if you find an awesome place to hang, like across the grand canyon or something like that, you can put up your doublenest, with eno fly, and take a picture. Then send the picture to their website and they will probably give you all kinds of free stuff to use the picture on their website.
