First DIY Hammock and I didn't hit the ground

Made my first diy hammock and whoopie slings. Took the kid to the park to have lunch and try it out. Some stretching but I didn't hit the ground. Kind of addicting. I thinking about making another one now.

And my DIY with my Treehugger Hammock.

    Nicely done!
The stretching is probably more a result of the span between trees being so large. If you can find trees closer to 15' apart, I bet your stretching issue goes away significantly.

You've built your own system. The only thing left to do in order to get your hammock badge, is to land on your backside. Preferably from a low height!

Kind of hoping to avoid the ground bounce, but figure it will happen eventually. I picked the trees far apart to check out the adjustability of the slings. Even added slings to the other hammock. Yeah, got ideas floating around now on incorperating a bug net.

paracord works on parachutes because there are many of them to share the load-not aware of the 550 designation being the weight limit or something else; tho' the tension multiplier when used as a hammock suspension (due to angle of hang) and the extended static load might be contributing factors to your failure situation...
go with the amsteel .. it is known to work. and weighs even less! KM
