The events of this week lead to July the 3rd being a last minute decision to head to Linville Gorge with my good friends Jim de Friess and Kenneth Crump. Just a day trip but any trip to the gorge is a good trip.
First part of the trip was a short walk to the big switch back below the intersection of Rock Jock and Conley Cove Trail. There we'd found back in May a huge blowdown that was blocking the trail. Three hours later and mainly from the Pulaski work of Jim and Ken ... the blow down was cleared and the trail was open.
Jim had to attend a family function and that left Ken and I to head for a side trip to visit Buzzard Point followed by some serious lolly gagging in hammocks, lunch and a nap at a place we called Camp Blueberry ... for obvious reasons.
Just a little video as a tribute to a great day with two of best guys in the world. Top of the heap these fellers ... that's for sure! Proud to call them friends.
